When people think of Hoi An, the first thing that usually comes to mind is the charming Old Town, with its historic buildings, colorful lanterns, and riverside atmosphere.
As someone living in Da Nang, I have visited Hoi An several times, but this time I decided to explore somewhere a little different from the usual Old Town sightseeing.
I visited VinWonders Nam Hoi An, a large entertainment and theme park located near Hoi An.
The park offers much more than amusement rides. You can enjoy exciting attractions, see animals from a boat at River Safari, and explore different areas designed for entertainment and family fun.
In this article, I’ll share my experience at two of the highlights I enjoyed most: Adventure Land and River Safari.
If you are planning a trip to Hoi An from Da Nang and are looking for something different to do, especially with children, VinWonders Nam Hoi An is worth considering.
Overview
VinWonders Nam Hoi An is a large theme park located in the Hoi An area.
The park features amusement rides, River Safari, cultural experiences, and other entertainment areas, making it more than just a traditional amusement park.
What I particularly liked was the variety of experiences available in one place.
You can enjoy exciting rides in one area, then take a relaxing boat ride to see animals, and later explore other parts of the park.
Because of this variety, the park can be enjoyed by both adults and children, although I think it is particularly suitable for families.
For people living in Da Nang, it is also an interesting option for a weekend day trip.
Instead of simply visiting Hoi An Old Town, you can spend an entire day enjoying a different side of the Hoi An area.
Location
VinWonders Nam Hoi An is located south of Hoi An Old Town.
It is not within walking distance of the Old Town, so you will need transportation to get there.
If you are traveling from Da Nang, taking a Grab or taxi is a convenient option. If you are planning to visit both VinWonders and Hoi An Old Town on the same day, I recommend allowing enough time for transportation between the two.
For those of us living in Da Nang, it can also work well as a day trip. You can leave in the morning, spend the day at the park, and return to Da Nang in the evening.
The park is quite large, so I would recommend setting aside plenty of time rather than trying to squeeze it into a short visit.
Highlight
Highlight 1: ADVENTURE LAND
The first area I want to introduce is Adventure Land.
As the name suggests, this area is ideal for anyone who enjoys exciting and active attractions.
There are various rides and attractions, including some that offer a good dose of speed and excitement.
Although theme parks are sometimes associated mainly with children, I found that Adventure Land can be enjoyable for adults as well.
After living in Da Nang for a while, weekends often end up being spent at cafes or restaurants. So it was actually refreshing to step away from my usual routine and enjoy some exciting rides.
Some attractions are more thrilling than others, so there is something for people with different levels of enthusiasm for amusement park rides.
Since much of the area is outdoors, I recommend bringing water and taking precautions against the strong sun, especially during the hotter months.
If you are visiting with young children, it is also a good idea to take regular breaks rather than trying to see everything at once.

Highlight 2: RIVER SAFARI
One of the most interesting experiences for me was River Safari.
Unlike a traditional zoo where you walk from one enclosure to another, River Safari allows you to see animals while traveling along a waterway by boat.
This makes the experience feel quite different from visiting a regular zoo.
As the boat slowly moves along the water, you can see animals along both sides of the route.
Watching them from a boat gives the experience a slightly adventurous feeling, almost like a small jungle cruise.
For families with children, the boat ride itself is also part of the fun.
River Safari is much more relaxing than the attractions in Adventure Land, which makes it a nice contrast between the two areas.
If you visit VinWonders Nam Hoi An, I would definitely recommend making time for River Safari.
For me, this was one of the experiences that made the park more interesting than a typical amusement park.

Final Thoughts
VinWonders Nam Hoi An is a great option if you want to experience something different from the usual Hoi An Old Town sightseeing.
What I liked most about the park was the variety of experiences available in one place.
You can enjoy exciting rides at Adventure Land, take a boat ride to see animals at River Safari, and explore other areas throughout the park.
I think it is particularly suitable for families looking for a full day of entertainment, but adults can also have a great time here.
As someone living in Da Nang, I found it to be an interesting option for a weekend day trip.
Hoi An Old Town is certainly a must-visit, but if you have extra time, traveling a little farther to VinWonders Nam Hoi An lets you experience a completely different side of the area.
If you are looking for a place to enjoy with children, love amusement parks, or simply want to see something different around Hoi An, consider adding VinWonders Nam Hoi An to your itinerary.
